Forest Scene Breakdown
Vegetations were distributed using Blender's particle system's hair function along the normals of the terrain.
Scene Layout preview
Vegetations were displaced by a painted density map on the terrain.
Butterfly shading to get the desired effect.

Corals and seaweeds were also distributed using the particle system.
Caustic Animation Test
Scene Layout Preview
Caustic effect was done in the shader by applying a voronoi texture based on the object's world space, and adding a vector math node to animate the z-axis. Lastly, plug the group output into the shader's emission attribute.
Seaweed Animation Test
Seaweed animation was driven by a noise texture under displace modifier and using an object's coordinates as an animation target. Therefore, animating the target object's rotation would affect the distortion speed while Displace strength controls the intensity.
